LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) — Emergency crews were able to make quick work of a fire at a Lincoln business Monday afternoon.

An employee of George’s Towing and Repair reported to police just after 1 p.m. that a vehicle inside the building caught fire, according to Lincoln Police Captain Philip Gould.

Gould said all employees were able to get out safely, but one firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

George’s is surrounded by other commercial and industrial businesses, but the flames were confined to that one building.

Despite having quickly knocked down the fire, crews remained on scene for several hours to clear any hot spots.
