Red Cross assists family after Dartmouth house fire

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — The Red Cross is now helping a family who was burned out of their Dartmouth home.

According to the Dartmouth fire chief, the fire started on the roof of the Thibeault Lane home around 8 p.m. Sunday. Fire crews said it appears to be electrical in nature and is not considered suspicious.

Video of the flames submitted through shows flames shooting out of the roof of the building and fire crews racing to the scene.

Officials say the second floor of the home is a total loss.

No one was home when the fire broke out and no injuries were reported.
