Red Cross assists family after Dartmouth house fire

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — The Red Cross is now helping a family who was burned out of their Dartmouth home.

According to the Dartmouth fire chief, the fire started on the roof of the Thibeault Lane home around 8 p.m. Sunday. Fire crews said it appears to be electrical in nature and is not considered suspicious.

Video of the flames submitted through ReportIt@wpri.com shows flames shooting out of the roof of the building and fire crews racing to the scene.

Officials say the second floor of the home is a total loss.

No one was home when the fire broke out and no injuries were reported.
