PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Fire crews responded to a Providence home after flames broke out on the top floor early Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported just before 4 a.m. at a three-story home in the 300 block of Admiral Street, near Douglas Avenue.
According to Providence Fire Chief Clarence Cunha, the damage appears to be confined to the third floor of the building, attic, and roof.
“The way the building was built there is a small attic space, so the fire consumed most of the attic space and that’s why we have a partial roof collapse,” he said.
Three adults and three children were inside the home when the flames broke out and got out safely.
No injuries were reported.
