Crews battle 9-alarm fire in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say several residents have been displaced by a nine-alarm fire that has spread to three houses in Cambridge, however there are no reports of injuries.

The Cambridge Fire Department says the fire in the Central Square area began around 3:30 a.m. Sunday and quickly moved from two alarms to nine. Cambridge police say homes in the area are close together.

Fire officials say the Red Cross is assisting the affected families.

No other details were available.
