PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – A Woonsocket man suspected of beating his girlfriend to death last December was indicted on several charges, including murder, Wednesday.
Emmanuel Algaria, 21, is charged with domestic murder in the death of 24-year-old Catherine Salvi. He is also facing charges of possession of marijuana and a controlled substance.
Algaria is accused of beating Salvi to death back last December. Salvi spent three weeks in a coma due to severe head trauma, and died on January 5.
Algaria was previously ordered held without bail during his March 10 arraignment in Providence District Court.
He is now scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court later this month.
