PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — From electrical shock to decompression sickness to just plain falling on your rear end, a number of products were recalled this week that pose risks to you and your family.
More than 33,000 PetSmart Top Fin Plastic Aquarium Heaters have been recalled because the heaters are insufficiently grounded, posing a risk of electrical shock.
PetSmart sold the product nationwide from March 2014 until April 2014 for about $35. Consumers should immediately stop using the heater, unplug it, remove it from the aquarium and return it to any PetSmart store for a full refund.
Johnson Outdoors Diving has recalled wrist dive computers due to an injury hazard. The device can leak and stop working, posing a risk of injury due to decompression sickness. The firm has received four reports that the dive computers leaked and stopped working, but there were no injuries as a result.
The recall involved the SCUBAPRO Aladin 2 dive computer that monitors depth, dive time, decompression status, and temperature. Consumers should stop using the product and return it to where it was purchased for a free replacement.
Pottery Barn is recalling bar stools for fear they can break, posing a fall hazard.
Donovan Bar Stools were sold nationwide from March 2014 through June 2014 for $230. Pottery Barn received 25 reports of the footrest breaking, but no injuries were reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled stools and contact the company for replacements.
