PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Three men are expected in court Tuesday, following a shooting on I-95 north in Providence early Saturday morning.
State Police say the suspects were in a car that opened fire on a second car traveling on the highway. The suspects’ car crashed moments later, police said, at the Route 146 overpass in Providence.
About 10 minutes later, Providence Police arrested three men at the Marriott Hotel on nearby Orms Street. Police identify the suspects as Raul Otero, 22, of Pawtucket, Jovani L. Velez, 20, of Central Falls, and Ramon Escotto, 23, of Providence. All three were arraigned on several charges at Rhode Island State Police Headquarters. Otero was ordered held without bail. Velez and Escotto were held on 250,000 bail each.
The victim in the other car says the bullets came through his driver’s side window, but he was unharmed.
