Family pleads for missing woman’s return

FALL RIVER, MASS. (WPRI)- A local family is hoping and praying for the safe return of their missing daughter.

Jennifer Mbugua was last seen in May outside of her Fall River apartment building. Police found her abandoned car behind a North Attleboro gas station on May 28. Her keys and sandals were found in a nearby dumpster.

Family members describe her as quiet, kind hearted, religious and always in touch.

“As far as we know everything was left in her apartment. Her wallet, her pocketbook, her driver’s license. Everything was left in tact. So that’s why it never made sense,” said Anna Mbgua, Jennifer’s mother.

Jennifer’s family has emptied out a Taunton storage facility where she kept her belongings.

“Wherever you are, we don’t sleep. Your dad doesn’t sleep. Your sister doesn’t sleep. So please, please call us,” said Lisa Mbgua, Jennifer’s sister.

A vigil will be held on August 16, Jennifer’s 32nd birthday. Her family is buying missing persons posters to put on buses in North Attleboro.
