Police investigating shots fired incident

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence Police are investigating a case of shots fired late Thursday night in the area of Hyatt Street and Manton Avenue.

Deputy Chief Cmdr. Thomas Oates told WPRI.com callers reported six shots were fired about 10:00 p.m., according to dispatch logs.

Officers were on the scene till after 11:00, examining shell casings found in the street. They’re looking into reports two people were shooting from one vehicle at another passing vehicle; more details could be coming out later in the day Friday, Cmdr. Oates said.

There were no reports of anybody hit or injured by the gunshots.
