Money was raised for charities that aim to bring music and the arts back to public schools and others that provide safe, enriching environments for students in need, such as The Amos House, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence, The Music School of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the MET School, and St. Mary’s Home for Children, among others.
Osborne and co-host Magic Johnson brought even more famous faces to the Ocean State this year, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy, Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Smokey Robinson, Doc Rivers, Sinbad, and Cedric the Entertainer.
The first two Celebrity Classics provided more than $300,000 for Rhode Island non-profit organizations.
WPRI 12 was once again a proud media sponsor of the event.
