PROVIDENCE, RI (WPRI) – Law enforcement officials from across Rhode Island have teamed-up once again this year to help children prepare for the upcoming school year.
Donations to the “Kids, Cops & Classrooms” program will go on display at the state house Friday.
State police, the Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association and RI Attorney General’s office have been collecting backpacks and other school supplies for children in Rhode Island.
The goal of the program is to help parents who are struggling financially.
The program has several corporate sponsors including Ocean State Job Lot, Benny’s Home and Auto, CVS Caremark, Samsonite, Walgreen’s, and Hasbro.
