FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — The demolition of an arson-ridden home in Fall River has been put on hold after a significant of asbestos was found inside.
Last week construction crews began tearing down the Bay Street abode, which was the target of three separate arson fires in less than eight months.
The asbestos cleanup not only forced a postponement of the project, but it’s also expected to triple the cost.
Mayor Will Flanagan said Friday that he’s authorized the extra cash to complete the project, which is expected to begin again early next week.
