PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Fourteen people, including eight children, are out of their homes and are being helped by the American Red Cross after a fire early Friday morning.
The fire broke out on the third floor of a wood-framed triple-decker home on Sterling Avenue, city fire crews told The Providence Journal. Fire investigators are looking into the precise cause. A couple in their 30s on the top floor was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Two families, including four adults and eight children, were given emergency housing and food; two adults were also supplied with housing, food and clothing.
