Cranston native’s movie to benefit military vets

Cranston native and “Rhode Show” alum Ben Hague stopped by The Rhode Show Friday to talk about his new movie, “Getting Home.”

Hague, a comedian and former co-host of the Rhode Show, recently wrote and starred in a movie that’s about to be unveiled to local audiences. The movie is also helping support local vets by donating money to “Operation Stand Down.”

A gala night to benefit Operation Stand Down Rhode Island, hosted by Hague and Will Gilbert, will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Casino Theatre of the Newport International Tennis Hall of Fame, 194 Bellevue Ave., Newport.

The gala will feature a special screening of “Getting Home.”

Hague talks more about his new movie, including what inspired him to create the film, in the video featured above.
