SWANSEA, Mass. (WPRI) — Three local police departments teamed up to produce an arrest after a Swansea bank was held up at gunpoint last month.
Alan Cuthill, 28, of East Providence, was taken into custody Thursday as a suspect in the August 1 robbery of BayCoast Bank on Wilbur Avenue.
According to police, the suspect entered the bank with his face covered, brandished a black handgun and demanded money from the teller, then fled in a dark-colored SUV with an undetermined amount of cash.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Cuthill was charged with robbery while armed and masked and held as a fugitive from justice.
The Swansea, East Providence, and Barrington Police Departments all had a hand in identifying and tracking down the suspect.
