Hot Happenings: New England Whiskey Festival

Raise a glass to the weekend ahead and welcome the first New England Whiskey Festival.

Frank Martucci, general manager of beverage operations for Twin River Casino, stopped by The Rhode Show Thursday to talk about the New England Whiskey Festival and make a delicious concoction called “The Plantation Cocktail.”

Twin River Casino will host the New England Whiskey Festival where great companies will gather right here in Rhode Island to show off the latest whiskey products, trends, and innovations. Participants will discover new brands and the hottest beverage trends along with great food, samplings and entertainment by The Whiskey Treaty.

The festival will take place Saturday, Sept. 27, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Twin River event center. Tickets to the 21 and older event are $30 with $5 of each ticket benefiting the Rhode Island Hospitality Association Education Foundation.

Marticucci also showed us how to make “The Plantation Cocktail,” a cocktail he created for the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau’s upcoming Destination Guild. View the video and follow the recipe below to learn how to make this tasty drink.
