MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Police have arrested a 21-year-old former student at a New Hampshire high school after he showed up in a classroom with what turned out be a pellet gun in his waistband, causing a 90-minute lockdown.
Police said Damian Johnson went through a front door at Manchester High School West as students were arriving for the start of classes Thursday morning.
Manchester Police Chief David Mara said Johnson went to a classroom, where a female student saw the gun.
He said Johnson, who also had a knife, did not make any threats or act violently when he was taken into custody. He was charged with criminal trespassing.
The school in New Hampshire’s largest city is about 20 miles south of Concord. It has about 1,300 students.
