WESTERLY, R.I. (WPRI) — A Westerly woman remains in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital after she was struck by a car Thursday afternoon.
Police said they responded to Oak Street at about 1:45 p.m. to find a woman lying in the road in the area of Spuchy Drive.
The woman was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver, a 50-year-old man from Westerly, was also on scene, according to police.
Police said it appears the pedestrian was in the traveling portion of the roadway when she was struck.
The incident remains under investigation by the accident reconstruction unit.
