PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence police are searching for a vehicle involved in a late-night drive-by that sent one person to the hospital.
According to police, the shots were fired at the corner of Pleasant Street and McCann Place, not far from North Main Street in Providence.
As officers arrived on scene, police said several people flagged them down, telling them someone had been shot.
Officers found the victim, identified in a police report as 24-year-old Colossian J. Davis, in a doorway with three gunshot wounds. He was injured in the face, abdomen and thigh. They said he was communicating with first responders before being taken by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital.
According to police, the victim told officers he was injured in a drive-by shooting. He told them the shots were fired from a black Chrysler Pacifica, when then sped up Pleasant Stree toward Hope Street.
Police said Colossian’s injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening.
As of Monday afternoon, there was no word on any suspects.
