President Obama making another trip to RI

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Just weeks after attending a fundraising event in Newport, President Obama is making a return to Rhode Island.

A White House spokesperson confirmed for Eyewitness News the president will arrive in the state Thursday, Oct. 16.

While the details of the trip are not yet available, we’re told the president will “deliver remarks on the economy.”

President Obama made a brief visit to Rhode Island Aug. 29 for a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. That visit lasted less than four hours. No word on how long he’s expected to stay in the state next week.
