SEEKONK, Mass. (WPRI) – Two men who police say are connected to an armed robbery at Staples on Highland Avenue are in custody.

According to Seekonk police, one man entered the store while the other stayed in a car parked outside just before 4 p.m. Sunday. One suspect allegedly asked a store employee for assistance looking at various electronics.

Police said the suspect then told police he had an automatic weapon and told the clerk to leave the store with him. The suspect then jumped in the car with the other suspect and took off, police said.

The employee immediately went back inside the store and called police.

Minutes later, Warren police spotted the two suspects driving through town and pulled the car over. They said several stolen items were still inside in the vehicle.

Police arrested Sidney Ingram, 36, and Andrew Lancaster, 62, both of Dochester, Mass. They are both being held at the ACI in Cranston.

The robbery remains under investigation.
