CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Cranston City Council finance committee backed several tentative agreements recently reached between the school department and teachers union.
The agreements would give teachers a pay increase of four percent and also provide raises for other district employees.
According to The Providence Journal, the three-year agreement would see teachers have no raise this school year, but gain two percent increases the next four years.
The finance committee voted Thursday to recommend ratification. The agreements are scheduled to go to the full council Oct. 27.
