There’s a great food drive happening in our area right now. The Rhode Island Community Food Bank is teaming up with the Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation.
It’s being held in celebration of the foundation’s first “National Week of Service.” The program works to help fight hunger in our country and Dunkin’ has been a long-time partner to “Feeding America.”
On Thursday, a group of 20 Dunkin’ franchisees volunteered at the food bank to sort and pack up some food.
“I enjoy it. It’s a great cause. We help feed the needy people. It’s great,” said Joe Prazeres, a Dunkin’ Donuts local franchisee. “We’ve been doing it for several years and people keep coming back.”
Earlier this year, Dunkin’ Donuts announced a $1 million, three-year partnership with “Feeding America” that will help support critical initiatives across the country.
