EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — East Providence Police are looking for the person who held up a Santander Bank branch at gunpoint.
Surveillance images show the suspect in a black hooded sweatshirt, with the hood up, barking orders to a teller inside the Taunton Avenue branch Thursday about 4:30 p.m. By the time officers got there, police say the suspect had run off into the neighborhood.
A street-by-street search by officers didn’t turn up the suspect.
There was no word how much money the suspect had gotten away with.
The suspect is described as a male, between 5′ 4″ and 5′ 10″ in height, with a medium build. His race or age wasn’t clear. Besides the black hooded sweatshirt, he was also wearing tan pants.
If you have any information about the crime, you’re asked to call East Providence Police at 435-7600.
