PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The attorney general’s office says 21 suspects from Rhode Island and Massachusetts face felony drug charges related to a cocaine-distribution ring.
The Providence Journal reports that the 20 men and one woman possession of cocaine and other charges.
They are expected to be arraigned in Superior Court in Providence on Nov. 5 after a grand jury handed up a 101-count indictment.
State police say that in July, the Rhode Island State Police High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force arrested 14 people and seized about 1,250 grams of cocaine and more than $30,000.
The attorney general’s office says 18 people were identified as suspects after an initial wiretap and investigation. They were arrested over the summer.
More information from the wiretap and an investigation led to the arrests of three more people.
