Hydrant flushing to impact water pressure in 5 communities

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — The Kent County Water Authority has scheduled rounds of hydrant flushing in five Rhode Island communities.

The process will take place between October 27 and November 7 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Residents living in these areas may see discolored water and lower than normal water pressure during this period.

The following communities will be affected:

  • Scituate: Hope
  • Cranston: Fiskeville and Oaklawn
  • Coventry: All except for the southern and western area bordered by West Greenwich and East Greenwich
  • Warwick: Natick and East Natick. Tollgate Road and Centerville Road Area east to Apponaug
  • West Warwick: Between Coventry town line and Warwick town line from the Cranston town line southerly to East Greenwich Avenue

Customers who see discolored water should let cold water run for a short time until it runs clear.
