Snobbery may be in the eye of the beholder, but in a recent survey, Travel + Leisure finds Providence to be in the top 10 for snobby cities.
The magazine’s recent survey of America’s Favorite Places ranked Providence at the top of the list. But within that survey, snobby cities were surveyed, as well. Providence came in at no. 10.
The article suggested the “snobby” factor came in to play due to the capital’s Ivy League affiliation with Brown University, and the tech-savvy and “avant garde” vibes of the locals.
Providence has also ranked very high in lists for gourmet food shops.
What do you think about this ranking? What makes people snobby?
