FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) – The Bristol County District Attorney is joining the growing field of people considering a run to become Fall River’s next mayor.
Sam Sutter pulled nomination papers on Thursday morning.
He is the 13th person to take out nomination papers.
Current Mayor Will Flanagan is facing a recall.
Sutter says he will await the outcome of court proceedings related to Mayor Flanagan’s recall effort before making a final decision on whether to run.
Sutter says Fall River is in “turmoil” and that “managerial competence, integrity and civility need to be restored” to the city.
In 2012, Sutter tried unsuccessfully to defeat Rep. Bill Keating for his U.S. Congressional seat and also considered a run for Massachusetts Attorney General.
