JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A grand jury handed out an indictment Friday charging a Providence man with a brazen robbery in Johnston.
Papadjiby Ba, 21, of Glenham Street, is accused of holding a gun to the head of an employee at Homefries Restaurant back in July and forcing her to the ground. He then made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
Ba was arrested by Providence police a few days later on a stolen firearms charge, and an officer recognized him as a possible suspect in the Johnston robbery.
Police said a victim positively identified Ba as the suspect, and he then confessed to committing the robbery.
Ba now faces charges of first-degree robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
He’s scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 12.
