CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) — A stabbing in Central Falls sent three people to the hospital Wednesday afternoon – including the suspect.
City police and rescue crews responded to the area of Beacon and Perry Streets just after 1 p.m.
An eyewitness said she saw a man jump a young girl and two men came to her rescue. The three men then started fighting, and the first man stabbed the two that were trying to help the girl.
“I just saw a bunch of police and rescues and people screaming,” said Tom Dery, a second eyewitness. “There was a kid over there on the ground lying there just bleeding. Another guy was walking around. He was bleeding. It was crazy.”
According to Central Falls Police Chief Col. James Mendonca, two victims and the stabbing suspect were transported from the scene by ambulance.
One man appeared to be bleeding from his hand, while another was bleeding from his head.
No word yet on what charges the suspect will face.
