PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI/AP) — Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have fallen to just under $3 for the first time since 2010.
The latest price survey by AAA Southern New England found the average cost of a gallon of regular self-serve at $2.98, that’s down 3 cents from last week.

Local prices have dropped 22 cents in the last month. The current average in Rhode Island is 9 cents more than the national average of $2.89.
Rhode Islanders were paying 42 cents more on average, or $3.40 a gallon, a year ago this week.
