Dunkin’ to give free Croissant Donuts Wednesday

It comes more than a year after the Dominique Ansel Bakery in New York City introduced its now-trademarked Cronut, which became a viral sensation and spawned numerous knockoffs. (WPRI) – If you haven’t tried the new Croissant Donut from Dunkin’, you can try it Wednesday for free!

A Dunkin’ Donuts sampling truck will be giving away the donuts free of charge on Wednesday, November 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thayer Street in Providence while supplies last.

The truck will give patrons the chance to sample the donut, as well as their Dunkin’ Dark Roast coffee.

“The Croissant Donut has 24 layers of buttery dough and is covered with the same sweet distinctive glaze used on our Glazed Donuts, creating the ultimate pastry that is crisp on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside. We look forward to bringing this new, unique bakery item to our guests nationwide,” said Jeff Miller, Dunkin’ Brands Executive Chef and Vice President of Culinary Innovation.

Dunkin’ has also developed a white branded gift box with a clear window specially designed to hold one Croissant Donut. Available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants, the window box is the perfect way to showcase the delicious creation to any donut lover.

If you visit the truck, make sure to take a photo and share it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #CroissantDDonut.

You could win a year’s supply of donuts!
