One dead, another hurt, in Wareham crash

WAREHAM, Mass. (WPRI) – One man was killed and another seriously injured in a two-car collision in Wareham.

Wareham police said that the crash happened just after midnight Sunday morning on Charge Pond Road. Two vehicles driving in opposite directions collided, causing one of them to roll over onto its roof.

The driver of the car which rolled over, 45 year-old Raymond Cardoza, Jr., of Onset, was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been driving south at the time of the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle, 35 year-old Richard Hollis of Wareham, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with serious leg and hip injuries.

There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

Wareham police said Sunday morning that the investigation is still underway and investigators had not yet determined what caused the crash.
