PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Woonsocket man was arrested last weekend and charged with following a woman home to steal money she won at the casino.

According to police, the 72-year-old woman left Twin River Casino with $3,000 in her purse on Nov. 23 and drove back to her home on Waverly Street in Providence. The suspect followed her there and ripped the bag away as she exited her car.

Police said surveillance footage from the casino allowed them to identify the suspect, and Abdulaye Fall, 30, of River Avenue, was taken into custody Saturday night.

Fall was arraigned Monday on a first-degree robbery charge and ordered held without bail.
