PROVIDENCE, RI (WPRI) – A West Warwick man has been sentenced to three years at the ACI for his third DUI within five years.
Louis Caruolo, 41, was ordered to serve at least 18 months of that sentence with the remainder suspended with probation.
Caruolo also lost his license for two years upon release from prison and will receive a mandatory installation of an ignition interlock device for one year when his license is reinstated.
He pleaded no contest in November to the charge stemming from his arrest on the evening of March 16 in Lincoln.
Members of the Woonsocket Police were returning from the ACI when they observed Caruolo driving erratically on Route 146.
The Attorney General commended the work of the Woonsocket and Lincoln police departments.
Caruolo was first charged with DUI in November 2010, his second in October 2011.
