This month’s issue of Rhode Island Monthly celebrates women in power in Rhode Island. And the magazine is hosting an event to honor those women this week.
The Day One fundraiser is happening Thursday, December 4, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Most of the women who were honored as powerful women in the issue plan to attend the event.
“We’re really looking forward to the event. It couldn’t have come at a better time, cause our services have never been more in need then they are right now. We’re really seeing the issue come to a forefront and we’re excited. Excited to be working with Rhode Island Monthly and again to be a part of the event with all of these great women,” said Kristy dosReis, Director of Communications for Day One.

Day One is the only organization in Rhode Island to deal with sexual assault.
“We support and advocate anyone affected by sexual assault. We provide education, prevention services, clinical services, treatment and advocacy. We help victims through the entire process of reporting, we can go to their court appointments with them, we go to the hospital with them. So, we offer a lot of help and services in all of those areas,” explained Kristy dosReis.
Kristy dosReis, Director of Communications for Day One, joined The Rhode Show Wednesday to talk more about it.
