PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI)- Providence police are warning residents following a series of recent car break-ins.
The break-ins were first reported by our news partners at the Providence Journal.
According to police, dozens of cars parked on Olney and South Water streets have been broken into over the past several weeks. Several cars were parked near popular bars and restaurants.
Police say the suspects appear to be young boys between the ages of 12 and 16. They are reportedly smashing windows or using a device that unlocks the car without tripping the alarm. The suspects then steal whatever they can from inside the vehicle.
