COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) – A discussion over finances turned into a shouting match at a Coventry Fire District meeting.
Things got heated on Sunday when State Representative Patricia Morgan questioned the transparency of the fire district board of directors and their balloting process for Tuesday’s election.
On Tuesday, the board is scheduled to possibly vote on a new budget.
Last month, the union representing firefighters claimed the Coventry Fire District was a half-million dollars in debt.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the board is also scheduled to elect three new board members.
