PROVIDENCE (WPRI) – Family and friends of a man killed by a drive-by shooting, held a vigil in his memory.
Loved ones attended United We Conquer Church on Saturday to remember 30 year old Michael Camacho, who is Providence’s 18th homicide victim of the year. Police say someone in a car shot Camacho while he was driving, causing him to lose control and crash head-on into another car.
Nanci Camacho is the murder victim’s mother, she says, “It’s very painful, it’s something like somebody stabbed something in your heart.”
Saturday’s vigil was also dedicated to all families who have lost a loved one to street violence.
Police are still searching for Camacho’s killer, no arrests have been made.
