Fire crews respond to Pawtucket mill fire

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Firefighters in Pawtucket responded to a fire that broke out in a two-story mill building on Moshassuck Street around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Fire officials tell us they were on scene for about an hour before it was put out.

Workers were said to have been doing maintenance on the building.

They were welding a metal plate over a hole in the floor, when some of the wooden joints caught fire.

There is no word on any injuries.
