PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The girlfriend of a woman killed in Providence earlier this month has now been charged with her murder.
Sendra J. Beauregard, 42, is accused of shooting Pamela Donahue, who was found unresponsive by her roommate inside their Quarry Street apartment on Dec. 2.
Police initially thought Donahue had overdosed, but EMT’s discovered a gunshot wound after she was transported to the hospital. Her death was then ruled as the city’s 19th homicide of the year.
According to the police report, the victim’s roommate told investigators the couple had been arguing for “two weeks straight.”
The report stated the roommate was home with Donahue and Beauregard, who asked him to go to a nearby convenience store. The roommate went on to say that “as he was walking home he noticed [the girlfriend] leaving,” then went upstairs and discovered “Pamela Donahue lying on the floor unconscious and unresponsive.”
Beauregard was arraigned Tuesday and ordered held without bail.
