WRENTHAM, Mass. (WPRI) — Massachusetts State Police released Tuesday the identities of two people that were killed and a third that was seriously injured in a highway crash late Sunday night.
Alexandra Walsh, 22, of Bedford, and Thomas MacPhee, 24, of Hyannis, were passengers in the pickup truck when it crashed on Route 495 South near Exit 15 in Wrentham.
The preliminary investigation revealed the truck veered off the roadway and struck the end of a guardrail. The truck was in flames when emergency crews arrived, and both passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the driver, 23-year-old Douglas Hayes of Hyannis, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries. He was listed in good condition at the hospital as of 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The cause of the single-vehicle crash remains under investigation.
