WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — West Warwick police say they are in the early stages of their investigation into a single-car crash.
The crash happened just before the stroke of midnight and the start of the New Year on J.P. Murphy Highway.
The road is a dead end street that is right off of I-95 by the East Greenwich border.
The car hit a utility pole and snapped it in half. National Grid was also on scene.
Police tell Eyewitness News, three people were in the car at the time of the crash and all three were sent to the hospital.
On the scene, we spotted what appeared to be a white sheet being used to cover a portion of the car on the driver’s side door.
It is unknown how serious their injuries are.
Police are have not released any of the names of the victims.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
