PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — New Year’s Day is viewed by many as a time for new beginnings, and that’s especially true for families bringing new life into the world.
Josiah Soares was born at 12:05 a.m. Thursday at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence. He’s a welcome addition to the family for his parents and big brother.
“It’s exciting, I was actually aiming for it because he was actually due on the 31st,” said his mother, Jessica Soares. “I’m really happy, good way to start off the new year.”
Josiah and his mother will head back home to Burrillville on Saturday.
He wasn’t the hospital’s only New Year’s baby, however. We’re told the first of the year was born just 16 seconds past midnight.
