FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — Two Massachusetts men have been arrested after a Fall River man was stabbed and robbed in his home.
Officers responded to 175 Rock Street late Tuesday night to find a 27-year-old man suffering from a stab wound. The victim told police he invited one of the suspects into his apartment, who later left and came back with a second man.
An argument ensued, during which one of the suspects demanded the victim’s wallet and cell phone, according to police. One of the suspects then pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the victim in the torso area, before both men fled the apartment.
The victim was treated by EMS on scene and transported to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
Investigators spoke with witnesses in the area and followed footprints in the snow, which led them to 610 Durfee Street, where Michael Alexander and Barron Sylvia-Moals were taken into custody.
Alexander, 24, of Boston, is facing charges of home invasion, armed robbery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Police said he’s also charged with seven warrants dating back to 2013, including larceny under $250, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, carrying a dangerous weapon, and various motor vehicle violations.
Sylvia-Moals, 24, of Fall River, is facing accessory charges of home invasion, armed robbery, and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, all after the fact.
