BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WPRI) – Members of Massachusetts State Police are warning drivers to clear snow and ice from the top of their vehicles.
On Tuesday morning, just before 9:30, ice flew off the top of a tractor-trailer and hit a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
It shattered part of the windshield while the car was driving south on Route 24 in Bridgewater.
Fortunately, the 35-year-old driver from Stoughton wasn’t hurt, but his vehicle did have to be towed from the scene.
Troopers warn drivers that this kind of accidents can be much more serious, even deadly.
If you see a vehicle with snow or ice on its roof, don’t follow too closely should something fly off of it.
If you see something that is potentially dangerous, call 911 and report the incident.
