Surveillance cameras capture New Bedford robbery suspect

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — New Bedford police are working to identify a suspect after a city store was robbed at knifepoint over the weekend.

According to police, the man entered Joe’s Convenience Store on Acushnet Avenue at about 1 p.m. Sunday and demanded money from the clerk. He obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot towards Clifford Street.

The clerk was not injured in the ordeal.

Police said the suspect was a clean-shaven, white male in his late 20s to early 30s, and at the time of the robbery he was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt and baseball hat.
