Pawtucket police investigating robbery

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – Pawtucket police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly robbed a D’Angelo’s shop Friday night.

According to police, the male suspect entered the sandwich shop at 216 Broadway at about 9 p.m., handed the clerk a plastic bag and told the clerk to fill it.

Employees told police that the man put his hand near his waistband, making them think he was armed, so they filled the bag with an undisclosed amount of money and handed it back. He then fled on foot north on Broadway.

Police said he was a white man between 5’9” and 5’11”, with a thin build. He was wearing a ski mask and a black jacket. The clerks did not actually see any weapon and nobody was hurt.

Anyone with information on the suspect should call Detective Richard Laforest at 401-727-9100 x761.
