Hundreds of volunteers needed to help shovel

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WPRI) — Serve Rhode Island is in need of volunteers to help remove snow following Monday night’s impending snow storm.

Volunteers will be needed through Thursday to help shovel out elderly and disabled residents.

Serve Rhode Island has recruited 178 volunteers, but still need at least 265 more and they expect that number to climb, according to Executive Director of Serve Rhode Island Bernie Beaudreau.

Those in need of assistance with snow removal can call Serve Rhode Island at 401-331-2298 beginning Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. For other needs, people should contact the United Way by dialing 2-1-1.
