WPRI.com and apps keep viewers informed through storms

(WPRI) — As winter of 2015 bears down on Southern New England, it is important that residents stay connected.

Knowledge is power, as well as safety, when it comes to getting through any storm – and Eyewitness News has a variety of digital resources and apps to keep you informed.

All apps are free to download through the Apple and Google play stores – just search for WPRI.

First, make sure to download the WPRI Pinpoint Weather App. Through this you can get live interactive radar, important alerts and updates, and the latest weather video from the Pinpoint Weather Team. In-depth and fresh blog posts by the weather team are also available on a daily basis.

The Pinpoint Weather Team is dedicated to giving detailed updates on storms and severe weather as it happens.

Another essential app to have is the WPRI Eyewitness News App. This offers all of the news and information that you need regarding the storm, including live streaming video of our wall-to-wall coverage of the blizzard.

If you are not an app person, or if you have a Windows phone or a Blackberry – don’t worry because you can surf WPRI.com from your mobile device. An optimized home page for mobile devices is available, which scales down for any size phone screen, whether a smartphone or a tablet.
